Description of Accident
On September 09, 2022 N77VJ, sustained substantial damage following a CAPS deployment and subsequent impact with wooded/marshy terrain in Orlando, FL.
Description of Damages
The aircraft is a constructive total loss and has significant airframe and water damage associated with the deployment of the emergency parachute and off airport landing colliding with trees and coming to rest in a swamp.
The composite fuselage and wings are broken and cracked in multiple areas following impact with several trees. The entirety of the airframe was subjected to not only torrential rainfall but possible brackish water flooding while sitting in a swamp for several days. The Williams turbofan engine is likely FOD and impact damaged.
