1990 Beechcraft A36 Bonanza N8038Z, s/n: E-2568. The last Annual Inspection is dated 04/28/2021 at AFTT 2839.7.  AFTT 2868 at the time of accident per NTSB report.

Engine(s)

Continental IO550B1F, s/n: 1034995, was installed new on N8038Z on 01/29/18 at Hobbs 2497.  The last Annual Inspection is dated 04/28/2021 at ETSN 326.8.

Propeller(s)

Hartzell PHC-C3YF-1RF8068, s/n: QG1561B.  The only entry in what appears to be a new prop log indicates it was installed on 01/29/18 at Hobbs 2497.  There is no confirmation of the prop time on installation.  The prop was significantly damaged in the accident.

Description of Accident

On 12/02/21, N8038Z crashed due to fuel starvation after attempting to land on a highway during which the landing gear clipped a vehicle, the right wing tip struck a road sign, and the aircraft exited the highway and came to rest nose down in a ditch.
