DAMAGE: Potential buyers should carefully examine this airplane. PHOTOGRAPHS Damage includes but may not be limited to the following: Both propeller blades broken. Lower engine cowling is heavily damaged. Engine has had sudden stoppage. Nose landing gear strut is bent. Nose wheel pant is destroyed. Left main landing gear collapsed. Left main wheel pant destroyed. Left aileron destroyed. Belly skin panel torn at the left main gear. Forward, lower portion of the rudder is cracked. Aft 3.5 feet of fuselage has multiple cracks. Vertical stabilizer is destroyed. Left horizontal stabilizer outboard end severely cracked. Elevator skin cracked. Left wing lower surface at the wing tip is scraped. Left wing root slightly separated from the fuselage. Right wing tip leading edge scraped. Right wheel pant cracked.
OTHER INFORMATION: On 01/14/11, the aircraft had completed a touch-and-go landing and was in a post takeoff climb when the pilot reports that the engine lost power. The pilot turned to avoid obstacles and landed in a grass area. Almost immediately after touch down the left main wheel went into a shallow in the ground that caused the aircraft to severely ground loop to the left. As a result, the left main and nose landing gear collapsed. ENGINE OPERATION: A post accident engine run was accomplished under FAA supervision. The engine started easily and operated normally including producing full power. The cause of the reported loss of power is undetermined. LOCATION: Pompano Beach Airport, Pompano Beach, FL.
