DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT: Fuel starvation resulted in crash landing in field

DESCRIPTION OF DAMAGES:   Prop and most of engine broke away from the aircraft during forced landing. Possible slight bends in prop blades, scuffs to prop blades and  engine components. “Blower” (supercharger) case behind engine fractured completely aft of mounting flange. Exhaust collector, heat muff and exhaust stack separated from aircraft and lower cowling was broken into pieces. Both wingtips contacted the ground and the wingtips and outboard wing areas were bent and bucked and it appears the rear wing spars are bent. Both the left and right ailerons are buckled and the left aileron is dented and the skin torn. During the roll-out, the aircraft skidded through the grass, bending one or both main landing gear assemblies and tearing the tail wheel spring and ear assembly out to the tail of the fuselage. The tail-wheel spring may be bent. The rudder is bent and damaged from ground contact. There is damage to the right rear fuselage frame and there is some buckling of the longerons and skins in the fuselage turtleback area. The bidder will be notified on the following Tuesday and agrees to provide wire transfer. Salvage will not be released until receipt of your wire transfer. All storage and handling charges accrued

prior to notification of high bid will be the responsibility of the seller and after that date will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Seller reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

Seller makes no expressed nor implied warranties for the condition, fitness for purpose, value, airworthiness or operation of performance of any kind whatsoever, whether in contract or tort in respect to the sale of any aircraft salvage. The buyer acknowledges that they have had the opportunity to inspect and evaluate the aircraft before signing and forwarding their bid and purchasing same.
