ENGINE: Lycoming Model 0-320-E2A, s/n L-17136-27A. The last Annual Inspection was accomplished on 09/20/2016, at TT 5,101.21, TSMOH 744.01.
PROPELLER: Sensenich K9034 with a TSMOH 946.31 at the Last Annual Inspection on 09/20/2016
EQUIPMENT: Removed and stored with adjuster: Transponder Narco AT150 TSO s/n 36409 Nav/Com Narco MK 12D TSO s/n 04054
DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT: N7465R was tied down outside at the Florida Keys Marathon Airport (MTH), 9000 Overseas Hwy, Marathon, FL 33050. On September 9, 2017, hurricane force winds from Hurricane Irma caused a storm surge, damaging the aircraft N7465R extensively, and marinating the entire aircraft including wings, fuselage belly, and engine with salt water. There was evidence of salt-water depth of 31 - 45 inches, the depth was likely much higher before leveling out. The winds also blew the salt water horizontally for up to 18 hours. Due to the lack of electrical power and fresh water for at least a week, no efforts were made to mitigate corrosion..
