DESCRIPTION OF ACCIDENT: N7465R was tied down outside at the Florida Keys Marathon Airport (MTH), 9000 Overseas Hwy, Marathon, FL 33050.
On September 9, 2017, hurricane force winds from Hurricane Irma caused a storm surge, damaging the aircraft N7465R extensively,
and marinating the entire aircraft including wings, fuselage belly, and engine with salt water. There was evidence of salt-water depth
of 31 - 45 inches, the depth was likely much higher before leveling out. The winds also blew the salt water horizontally for up to 18 hours.
Due to the lack of electrical power and fresh water for at least a week, no efforts were made to mitigate corrosion..
